These pages previously held a collection of unique workshops and services. Now that we’re both retired there is information about some of the things we are each choosing to do in retirement.
We each have a precious life with which to transform misery and suffering into happiness and contentment. At core, unhappiness is the byproduct of not getting what we want, often for long periods of time, and substituting endless diversion for fulfillment. However, as the saying goes, “You can never get enough of what you don’t really want.” Nor can you become someone you’re not, without sacrificing authenticity. And, leading an inauthentic life is like eating the menu instead of the meal.
In retirement we are each following our unique path of authenticity:
How do I want to be in the world and how do I continue engaging during limitations? What kind of relationships do I want and how will I maintain them during these challenging times? How am I investing my priceless life energy in activities that bring me joy? What new skills will assist me to, “Be the change I wish to see in the world?”
Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, who did extensive work with the dying, said that people on their deathbeds express two great regrets: Not being who they really were; and not doing what they really wanted to do. We believe that living authentically is the surest path to living without regret…so that’s what we’re doing in our retirement.
